Treatment Systems Services Ltd Awarded Mid Kerry Water Treatment Upgrade
Kerry County Council awarded Treatment Systems Services Ltd the contract for the Upgrade of Water Treatment Facilities on the Mid-Kerry Water Supply Scheme Scheme which currently supplies an average demand of approximately 8,000 m3 of water per day. This is a Design-Build contract for the upgrade of Kerry County Council’s Gearha water treatment plant which supplies drinking water to the Mid-Kerry Region. Treatment provided at present includes pH correction, disinfection and fluoridation. The existing scheme was constructed in the 1970’s and upgrade works are necessary to increase capacity to 11,000 m3 per day and to ensure compliance with the Drinking Water Regulations.

Commissioning of Mayo Bundle 2 Water Treatment Plants Underway
At the start of 2010 Treatment Systems Services Ltd began the process of commissioning the 10 new water treatment plants in the Mayo Bundle 2 Group Water Scheme DBO Contract. Nephin water treatment plant has now been commissioned and is currently operating, whilst the Callow and Moylaw plants are undergoing commissioning. The remainder of the plants will be commissioned over the next 6 months, providing a total drinking water treatment capacity of 7,000 m3/day.
