HR Advisor & Training Administrator – Athenry, Co. Galway

Fixed Term Contract : 10-12 months
Start Date: June 4th, 2019

  • Administration
    Be the first point of contact for all construction employees regarding any HR/Payroll queries.
    Deal with all the relevant telephone & email enquiries from site and relevant departments.
    Work according to the HR Schedule, Employee Legislation & the HR KPI’s.
    Responsible for day to day administration of all HR functions, including implementing the company’s policies and procedures.
    Preparation of employment contracts and issuing the starter packs.
    Complete onboarding for all new employees, using the HR Systems, maintaining all construction employee’s personal files and issuing identification cards.
    Monitoring & coordinating of apprentice phases and developments, following the guidelines set out in accordance with the GRETB apprentice programme and the apprenticeship code of practice for the ‘on-the-job’ phases.
    Follow the apprenticeship code of practice for the ‘on-the-job’ phases.
    Work closely with managers to ensure probation tracking is maintained and up to date.
    Work closely with the wider management team and the relevant departments to ensure a highly effective HR service.
    Support the HR department with ad hoc projects.
  • Recruitment
    Liaise with the manager/site managers in relation to recruitment requirements for the Construction Department.
    Advertise job positions internally and externally and on social media platforms.
    Manage incoming applications and identify the relevant candidates with the appropriate skills.
    Schedule interviews /attend interviews when required.
  • Employee Relations
    Progressively deal with ER issues in a manner that emulates our culture of fairness through effective and consistent use of our policies and procedures while de-risking the business.
    Case manage employee relations issues providing advice on employment legislation and best practice.
    Ensure probation tracking is maintained and up to date.
    In conjunction with the HR Manager, guide and advise management on investigation meetings, disciplinaries, absence management and grievance issues.
  • Training & Development
    Work closely with sites to ensure that they are compliant with all company requirements, employment legislation and eligibility requirements, ensuring that we provide a fair and safe place of work for employees.
    Identify the individual & construction site’s training needs
    Management of all training requirements and requests for employees within the company.
    Recording of all requests, resourcing suitable courses, locations and dates.
    To liaise with the purchasing department to raise purchase orders for all training booking
    Recording of all training and qualification records for each employee
    Reporting on training completed on a monthly basis.
  • Skills & Experience
    3rd level qualification in HR
    Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar HR position.
    Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment is an advantage
    High attention to detail and experience working to tight deadlines in a fast passed environment
    Self motivated with a proven record on delivery of scheduled work on time.
    Excellent verbal & written communication skills
    Strong interpersonal skills

Systems Experience: Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Excel, HRIS System (CascadeGo)
