ROLE: MEICA COMMISSIONING PROJECT ENGINEER

This role will be to support Contract Teams with relevant Contract needs, particularly during the later phases of live projects. The role is based in the Northwest out of Athenry office initially supporting projects in the region, particularly around Sligo / Leitrim and will require travel to sites on a regular basis to plan, coordinate and supervise MEICA works during site installation, integration, testing, commissioning and process proving. The role will be focussed on final Testing and Commissioning, incl. instrumentation, Mechanical and Electrical fault finding and problem solving in the field, ensuring Commissioning to Client satisfaction. This will include close liaison with Process, Operations and MEICA Project Engineering site team and Electrical / software sub-contractor. Position suitable for Contractor/permanent candidate.

Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for:

  • Leading the start-up and commissioning of automated process systems with site delivery teams
  • Overseeing day to day Project Electrical, Commissioning and PLC/Scada integration activities
  • Working with the site team and subcontractors in preparation for turn of flows and process proving
  • Trouble shooting and problem solving in the field during commissioning activities
  • Assist in Liaising with project ER’s and RE’s to inspect works and close out documentation etc.
  • Leading and taking responsibility for delivery for designated elements relating to installation of mechanical, electrical and ICA elements
  • Management and Supervision of installation and commissioning sub-contractors of various systems;
  • Assist with Commissioning and O&M document collation and submission
  • Supporting the qualification process for upgrades or newly installed treatment systems
  • Assisting in handover of works to internal/external operations personnel, incl. training where required
  • Implementation of HSQE procedures to Coffey Group and client defined standards. (PSDP and PSCS)
  • Basic Electrical and ICA design review including but not limited to diagrams, I/O list, instrumentation schedules, cable schedules, routing and layouts and software / programming

 

Requirements:

  • Degree level educated in relevant MEICA discipline
  • Experience as an Electrical, Integration or commissioning Engineer carrying out design review and supervision of EICA Installs and commissioning
  • Possess a strong understanding of relevant legislation and understanding of ensuring compliance to it;
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD for correction/completion of electrical drawings
  • Proven ability to handle project installation and commissioning documentation for completion of necessary O&M manuals and handover of finalised
  • Preferably have experience in water/wastewater sector
  • Knowledge of PLC controlled automated systems
  • Able to perform set-ups and configurations on various equipment such as VSDs, Instrumentation Controllers/Transmitters etc.
  • Able to perform testing and commissioning
  • Able to prepare/review RAMS related to EICA activities
  • Contract knowledge (FIDIC, NEC, Public Works) an advantage
  • Ability to communicate well with clients, subcontractors and in-house staff
