Coffey was appointed as main contractor to deliver the final section of the Dodder River Coastal Flood Alleviation Works on the left bank at Lansdowne Road, Dublin.
Project Description
The works involved the installation of 157m of sheet piling, each pile measuring 6.5m in length, along the Dodder River between the DART railway line and New Bridge at Lansdowne Road. The sheet piles provide structural support for a new stone-clad concrete wall designed to act as a robust floodwater containment system.
Scope of Works
The works included:
- Installation of 157m of 6.5m-long sheet piles.
- Support for a new stone-clad concrete flood containment wall.
- Pile driving to stringent line and level tolerances.
- Cutting of piles at changes of levels.
- Mobilisation, transportation and demobilisation of piling equipment.
