Project Summary
Coffey delivered the Young Street / Huntly Street Junction Improvements in Inverness, Scotland. The project enhanced a key 4-way junction in the city centre, improving traffic flow, pedestrian safety and overall accessibility.
Project Description
The works involved the removal of existing traffic islands, footways, tactile paving, traffic signals, street lighting and a CCTV column. Protection of utilities, including a gas main, was undertaken along with replacement of manhole covers and frames. The carriageway and footways were planed and reinstated with macadam surfacing, complemented by the installation of 125m² of Caithness granite slabs, tactile paving and granite kerbs. Works also included new road markings, ducting, chambers, public lighting and traffic signal infrastructure.
