Tubbercurry Wastewater Treatment Plant Completed by Coffey in June-2020 - Aerated Grit Channels removes grit from inlet flows to reduce maintenance and increase the lifespan of upstream mechanical equipment; such as pumps and aeration diffusers. These aerated grit channels also increases the removal of smaller items such as microplastics from the wastewater stream. The grit is transferred to a grit classifier where is it compacted and organic matter is removed by water jets. The grit is then ready for safe disposal off site.
