Long Service Awards for Three Coffey Employees

Three Coffey employees have been presented with long service awards to mark 25 years of employment with the company at a special awards ceremony held on Thursday 10th June 2021.

Congratulations to Colm McKenna, Padraig Morrissey and Stephen Morgan who have worked for Coffey for twenty-five years. The trio were honoured at a special awards ceremony on Thursday 10th June 2021 where they were presented commemorative watches in recognition of their hard work, dedication and commitment over twenty-five years of service with Coffey. Rory Donnelly (Operations Director – Eastern Region) opened the event and the presentations were made by Gary Coffey (HSQE Director) who commented ”It’s a pleasure to present Colm, Padraig and Stephen with their long service awards and I’m looking forward to many more years of working with them. They are a credit to Coffey and the award is recognition of their professionalism and commitment to the company throughout all the years of their employment”

The long-service recipients are:

Colm McKenna started with Coffey at the Trim Water Treatment Works (WTW) in 1996. He is an expert in reinforced concrete and all associated works, structures including bridges, tanks ,buildings ,rail etc. Colm has assisted in executing and delivering complex works in difficult areas and timelines throughout the years. He is a hands on guy who joined Coffey as a Concrete finisher and worked his way up to becoming a Ganger and later onto a Foreman. One of the stand out projects that Colm was involved in was an award winning water tower in Ballycoollin.

Padraig Morrissey started with Coffey at the Tuam Water Treatment Works (WTW) in 1995. He is an all-round expert in general civil engineering and groundworks. He started his career as a pipelayer and later progressed to ganger and senior foreman. Padraig has assisted in executing and delivering various water and road jobs in extremely challenging ground conditions and his stand out achievement is that he was the first Foreman to divert the river Liffey – Coughlinstown.

Stephen Morgan – Started with Coffey at the Trim Water Treatment Works (WTW) in 1996. Stephen delivers expertise in complex pipe works, from shaft sinking, deep drainage to mechanical fitouts. He started his career as a pipelayer and later progressed to ganger and senior foreman. A stand out project that Stephen was involved in was Lough Talt, Co. Sligo, one of the finalists in the water industry awards. This was a complex job that posed challenging conditions and constraints.
