Last week, Paul Baxter and Anne Carroll from Severn Trent joined us in Ireland for a two-day visit focused on sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas and seeing projects in delivery first-hand.
The visit included our Athenry office, the Coftec assembly facility and three water infrastructure project sites delivered for another client: Enfield WTP, Castletroy WwTP and Lough Talt.
Visiting projects in person gives a practical view of how engineering solutions perform in real operating environments. It also creates an opportunity for open discussion about the challenges facing the water industry and how we can respond to them.
Paul and Anne met with members of the Coffey and Coftec teams, toured our modular assembly facility and discussed approaches to delivering water infrastructure more efficiently, while maintaining quality, performance and value.
A key part of the discussion was the role of standardisation, reduced reliance on site civils and value-driven design. Designing with repeatability and practical delivery in mind can help simplify construction and improve efficiency without compromising performance.
Across the two days, both teams shared experience, asked questions and discussed lessons from projects at different stages of delivery. This approach reflects our focus on learning, sharing knowledge and working together to improve how infrastructure is delivered.
