Work is progressing well on the Pendinas DSR project for Hafren Dyfrdwy, part of the Severn Trent Group and responsible for water and wastewater services across North Wales and surrounding border areas. This investment will improve water storage capacity and strengthen network resilience for local communities.
The reservoir will provide 2 million litres of treated water storage once complete. It is divided into two compartments, allowing one side to remain operational during maintenance. Works include pipework installation, a valve house chamber, underfloor drainage, and a dedicated water quality sampling facility.
Recent milestones on site:
• 200m³ roof pour completed
• Upstands poured
• Valve chamber pipework installed
• Hand railing and access metalwork installed
Despite challenging winter conditions in North Wales, the team has maintained strong momentum, culminating in the completion of the roof slab last week.
The project has also provided an opportunity to support One Planet Adventure at the nearby visitor centre. One Planet Adventure is a well-known outdoor activity centre in Coed Llandegla Forest, welcoming visitors year-round for mountain biking and recreational use. Coffey assisted with lifting and base works for their totem pole project, working alongside them as the scheme progresses around their day-to-day operations.
This project is a good example of Coffey’s Do it Together value in action, working closely with our client, delivery partners and local stakeholders to keep the project moving while supporting the surrounding community.
