Coffey Awarded South Kilworth STW Contract as Part of Severn Trent’s AMP8 Programme

Coffey has been awarded the contract for works at South Kilworth Sewage Treatment Works in Leicestershire as part of Severn Trent’s AMP8 programme.

The project will support compliance with more stringent discharge permits while also addressing historic dry-weather flow challenges at the site.

A key element of the scheme is the introduction of natural coagulant dosing, following successful trials. According to the project scope, this will be the first permanent implementation of the solution.

The use of natural coagulant dosing is intended to provide a cost-effective approach that reduces the need for tertiary solids removal processes.

The wider project scope includes:

  • New inlet works arrangements
  • Flow control and balancing infrastructure
  • Ferric dosing
  • Laboratory facilities
  • Associated civils works
  • Mechanical and electrical works

Delivery of the project is scheduled to commence in mid-May, with collaboration already underway across the design, procurement and construction phases.

The contract award reflects Coffey’s continued involvement in the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK. Coffey operates across the water, energy and transport & civil engineering sectors.
