Coffey Recognised at Irish Construction Excellence Awards 2024

Coffey is honoured to have been awarded a prestigious Silver Award for the Saggart Reservoir Project at last Friday’s Irish Construction Excellence Awards 2024. The ICE Awards are the premier platform recognising performance excellence across the full spectrum of construction disciplines, architectural and engineering design, and project categories in Ireland.

Multiple Nominations Across Key Categories

Coffey was a finalist in four categories at this year’s ICE Awards:

  • BIM Excellence – Up to €50m: Galway West Water Supply Scheme – Terryland WTP Intake Works
  • Construction Project Manager – Over €10m: Anthony Croke
  • Civil Engineering – Over €10m: Saggart Reservoir
  • Innovation in Construction – Company T/O Up to €50m: BAMTEC® Steel Reinforcement System on Saggart Reservoir Project

The Saggart Reservoir Project

The Saggart Reservoir Project, which won the Silver Award, was undertaken for Uisce Éireann Irish Water from 2021 to 2024. It showcases Coffey’s engineering expertise in delivering water security for the Greater Dublin Area.

Coffey is honoured to have been awarded a prestigious Silver Award for the Saggart Reservoir Project at last Friday's Irish Construction Excellence Awards 2024.

As the main contractor, Coffey was responsible for this strategically important project, which secures the supply of drinking water to homes and businesses in the Greater Dublin Area for the foreseeable future.

Key Project Highlights:

  • Construction of a new state-of-the-art covered treated water storage reservoir
  • Supplied from Ireland’s largest water treatment plant at Ballymore Eustace
  • Impressive capacity of 100 million litres of treated drinking water (equivalent to 40 Olympic-sized swimming pools)
  • Sustainable design incorporating a wildflower meadow roof, GGBS concrete, and energy-efficient systems

The Saggart Reservoir project sets new benchmarks for innovation and sustainability in construction while generating lasting value for stakeholders and the local community.
