Coffey Appointed to Deliver Key Upgrade Works at Kegworth Wastewater Treatment Facility

Coffey has been appointed to deliver a programme of upgrade works at the Kegworth Wastewater Treatment facility in Leicestershire.

This project represents an important step in supporting future population growth while contributing to the achievement of strengthened environmental and effluent quality standards in the region.

Scope of Works

As part of the programme, Coffey will deliver a series of upgrades across the site, including:

  • Enhancements to the inlet works and flow to full treatment capacity
  • Provision of new stormwater storage and pumping facilities
  • Upgrades to treatment process infrastructure, including modifications to existing biofilter and solids removal systems
  • Installation of new chemical dosing systems to support compliance with updated phosphorus limits
  • Improvements to sludge handling and return liquor management

Supporting Wastewater Infrastructure

These works form part of ongoing investment in wastewater infrastructure and are intended to support the continued operation of the Kegworth facility in line with current and future requirements.

Programme Delivery

The works are scheduled to take place from summer 2026 to summer 2027.

Coffey will work in collaboration with project partners throughout the delivery of the programme.
