Project Update | Pendinas DSR

Progress continues at our Pendinas Distribution Service Reservoir (DSR) project for our client Hafren Dyfrdwy, part of the Severn Trent Group, with the team reaching several important milestones as the work moves closer to completion.

Since our last update, the internal fit-out of the DSR and valve chamber has been completed, while all feed pipework has successfully passed pressure testing. Ducting along the forest access road is also complete, and waterproofing works to the roof are nearing completion.

Work has now started at Pendinas Water Treatment Works to provide power to the new DSR, another key step in preparing the reservoir for operation.

Coffey Continues works on Pendinas DSR

Commissioning has been delayed due to the extended dry period, which has affected the availability of water supply to the new DSR. While we wait for conditions to allow commissioning to progress, the team continues to prepare for this next stage.

Once operational, the new reservoir will provide 2 million litres of treated water storage, helping to improve water storage capacity and strengthen network resilience for local communities.

It’s encouraging to see the project entering its final stages. Delivering a project like this is very much a team effort, and we’d like to thank Hafren Dyfrdwy and our subcontractors Stonbury, Larminie, Alpha Plus, JB Fabrications and TISS for their continued hard work and collaboration.

A strong example of our Do it Together value in action, bringing people and expertise together to deliver infrastructure that communities can rely on.
