We are pleased to announce that Coffey has been awarded the contract for the Drumconrath Water Supply Scheme Upgrade in County Meath. This significant project, a multi-million-euro investment on behalf of Uisce Éireann, will provide a clean, reliable, and sustainable drinking water supply to over 1,200 residents in Drumconrath and the surrounding areas.

Project Scope and Impact
This vital infrastructure project will address several key objectives to enhance the local water supply system. The scope of work includes:
- Source Replacement: Replacing the current unsustainable water source with a new groundwater supply from Posseckstown, located 4.3 km west of Drumconrath.
- New Infrastructure: Constructing a new 5.8 km rising main to connect the new source to the upgraded Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
- Capacity Upgrade: Upgrading the WTP to a treatment capacity of 1,000 m³/day, a significant increase from the current average of 600 m³/day, ensuring full compliance with current water quality regulations.
- Enhanced Access and Sustainability: Improving site access with safer roads and installing solar PV panels and other sustainable infrastructure to reduce the project’s environmental impact.
Upon completion, this upgrade will lead to the removal of the scheme from the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Remedial Action List. This will ensure a safe and secure water supply for local homes, farms, and businesses, fostering social and economic growth in the region.
