Hands-On Innovation with ifm at Coffey

At Coffey, we believe innovation thrives when people come together to share knowledge, test new ideas and explore better ways of working. That’s why we were delighted to welcome the ifm team to our offices on 10 September for a hands-on demonstration of their latest instrumentation solutions.

The interactive session gave our engineers the chance to explore ifm’s technology up close and discuss how it can enhance the design, installation and commissioning of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Beyond the technical demonstrations, the day created space for open conversations about challenges we face in the field and how supplier innovations can provide practical, real-world solutions.

For Coffey’s Operations and Maintenance division, these insights are particularly valuable. Instrumentation plays a central role in monitoring system performance, ensuring resilience and reducing downtime. First hand exposure to new tools and smarter systems equips our O&M teams to keep client assets operating at their best over the long term.

For our Design department, the session reinforced the importance of integrating the latest instrumentation knowledge early in the project lifecycle. By understanding supplier innovations at the outset, our designers can build in efficiency, resilience and smarter solutions from day one, reducing risks during construction and ensuring infrastructure that performs reliably for decades.

Sessions like this bring our values to life – Do the Right Thing, Do It Better, Do It Together. By engaging directly with suppliers, our teams build trust through open dialogue, improve our technical knowledge to deliver better outcomes, and strengthen collaboration across disciplines. This hands-on approach ensures that innovation is not just something we talk about, but something we actively embed into how we work every day.

We’d like to thank ifm for their time, expertise and willingness to engage openly with our teams. These kinds of collaborations not only strengthen our technical capabilities, they also help us stay ahead of the curve – ensuring we deliver infrastructure that enhances communities and creates lasting impact.

At Coffey, engineering tomorrow’s infrastructure means more than delivering projects. It means fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration and continuous improvement.

If you’d like to explore how Coffey can partner with you to deliver smarter, more efficient water and wastewater solutions, we’d love to hear from you. Contact our team today to start the conversation.
