Engineers Week 2026 provided a valuable opportunity for the Coffey team to engage with students and highlight the role engineering plays in shaping the infrastructure that supports our communities.
As part of the week’s activities, our team participated in Explore Engineering West at Clarin College in Athenry, where students had the chance to engage in practical demonstrations and learn about the wide range of careers in engineering. Conversations on the evening focused on how creativity, technology and problem-solving contribute to projects across water, transport, civil engineering and energy infrastructure.

During the week, Gary Coffey also visited students in 3rd class at Lisheenkyle National School as part of the Engineers Ireland STEPS programme. The session introduced students to engineering in a simple and engaging way, encouraging curiosity about how everyday infrastructure is designed and built.

At Coffey, our purpose is to enhance communities through engineering excellence. Supporting initiatives such as Engineers Week and the STEPS programme helps encourage the next generation to explore engineering and understand the impact it can have on society.
Through initiatives like Engineers Week, we continue to inspire future engineers and strengthen the link between education, innovation and the communities we serve.
