On Sunday, 20th July, the village of Glinsk, County Galway, was the setting for the annual Great Glinsk Run, which saw over 600 participants come together for an event focused on fitness, family, and community support.
This year’s run raised funds for Glinsk Community Childcare, a non-profit organisation providing essential, subsidised childcare services to families in the region, including several from the Coffey team. As a critical local resource, the facility contributes significantly to the well-being and development of the community.
Coffey was pleased to contribute to this important initiative. Proceeds from the event will support necessary infrastructure enhancements at the childcare facility, including the installation of a new wastewater treatment system, a backup generator, and improvements to the car park and drop-off areas to enhance safety and accessibility.
The event featured a range of activities to engage participants of all ages:
- 10km and 5km timed runs and walks
- 1km family fun run/walk suitable for all ages and fitness levels
- Live music, food, and entertainment
The day commenced with a motivational address from High Performance Coach Gerry Hussey and a warm-up led by Paralympian Richael Timothy of RT Fitness, setting a positive tone for the event.
